Heat doesn't let up: 13 districts under yellow weather warning until Monday. Find out which

SOL12 September 2026 at 10:41

The heat will continue to dominate the weather across most of Portugal over the next few days, with maximum temperatures remaining high. Thirteen districts are under yellow weather warning from the Portuguese Institute of the Sea and the Atmosphere (IPMA) until Monday.

The warning covers central and southern districts, but from Sunday the situation extends to the north as well. The public should take precautions against the high temperatures forecast.

The IPMA issued this yellow warning, which represents the lowest risk level on a three-tier scale, to alert for weather conditions that may pose some danger.

Why this matters

Readers should expect to continue facing high temperatures over the next few days, which may affect their health and well-being, especially vulnerable groups such as the elderly and children. The progressive extension of the weather warning from Sunday onwards indicates a worsening situation that requires attention.
