The authorities are investigating suspicions of match-fixing in Portuguese football arbitration. The Public Ministry is conducting the process that involves issues related to the integrity of sporting competitions.
Duarte Gomes and Hélder Malheiro, two referees, have been heard as part of this investigation. The hearings are part of the evidence collection work carried out by the authorities.
Among those under investigation are the former president of SAD do Estrela da Amadora and the current leader of the Arbitration Council of the Portuguese Football Federation. Both are suspected of involvement in the alleged irregularities.
