DECO questions legality of fixed taxi fare at Lisbon airport

The Portuguese Association for Consumer Defense (DECO) is questioning the legality of the fixed fare established for taxis at Lisbon airport. The association raises doubts about the compliance of this measure with current legislation.

The issue arises following a cooperation and self-regulation protocol signed this Friday by representative taxi associations and the Lisbon City Council. This protocol establishes fixed prices for taxi trips from the airport.

Starting October 15, passengers will be able to pay 16 or 19 euros for daytime trips on weekdays, depending on the destination zone. This measure aims to provide price predictability for consumers.

DECO has expressed concerns about the legality of this fixed fare, suggesting that it may not be in compliance with the applicable legal framework for the transport sector.

OE2027: Gaia City Council wants elimination of toll gantries on A29 and A32

The Vila Nova de Gaia City Council approved unanimously a proposal for the elimination of toll gantries on the A29 and A32 motorways to be included in the 2027 State Budget. The municipal executive, led by Luís Filipe Menezes (PSD/CDS-PP/IL), approved the elimination of the gantry on the A29 in Gulpilhares, which was installed in 2010 and has caused protests and losses for residents, who used secondary roads to avoid payment. The proposal to eliminate the gantries on the A32 came from the PS and was integrated into a common proposal approved unanimously. Menezes considered the gantry an injustice for users and asked the government and all political forces to approve this measure of "justice and social equity".
