Is the CPI being used for Chega's campaign? Are IRS and bonuses a trump card?

The hosts of the program "Out of the Deck" discuss the Portuguese political situation in a particularly difficult week for Luís Neves, Justice minister, and for Luís Montenegro, Prime Minister.

The conversation centers on the censorship motion presented against the Government, as well as the parliamentary hearing of the minister, at a time of political tension.

A Parliamentary Inquiry Committee (CPI) is also anticipated that may prove problematic for the Judicial Police, raising questions about the functioning and management of this police force.

The title of the episode suggests that fiscal issues such as IRS and bonuses may constitute strategic trump cards in the political campaign, possibly benefiting the Chega party.

OE2027: Gaia City Council wants elimination of toll gantries on A29 and A32

The Vila Nova de Gaia City Council approved unanimously a proposal for the elimination of toll gantries on the A29 and A32 motorways to be included in the 2027 State Budget. The municipal executive, led by Luís Filipe Menezes (PSD/CDS-PP/IL), approved the elimination of the gantry on the A29 in Gulpilhares, which was installed in 2010 and has caused protests and losses for residents, who used secondary roads to avoid payment. The proposal to eliminate the gantries on the A32 came from the PS and was integrated into a common proposal approved unanimously. Menezes considered the gantry an injustice for users and asked the government and all political forces to approve this measure of "justice and social equity".
