A fan who had been prohibited from attending football stadiums was detained when trying to enter the Estádio do Dragão to watch the match between FC Porto and Manchester City. The detention occurred during the Champions League encounter, in a joint operation by the Public Security Police and Security Forces.
The man was subject to a court-imposed stadium ban that prevented him from accessing sports venues. This measure had been applied previously, probably related to incidents that occurred during football matches.
After the detention, the fan was brought before court, where he was subjected to an Identity and Residence Bond. The Public Prosecutor's Office presented charges against the man, who now faces legal proceedings.
According to current legislation, violation of a stadium ban measure can result in a prison sentence of up to two years. The case continues to be monitored by the competent authorities.
