Traffic accident clogs VR1 in Funchal

A traffic accident caused an intense traffic jam on the VR1 in Funchal, Madeira. Traffic was completely paralyzed on the fast road due to the incident.

The queue of vehicles stretched for almost 6 kilometres, causing major delays to drivers travelling on that road. The congestion significantly affected traffic in the region.

Authorities are managing traffic at the scene to try to restore normality. Motorists are advised to avoid the VR1 while the situation is not resolved.
