Leading the polls for the government of Rio, Eduardo Paes (PSD) concluded this Friday the series of interviews by O GLOBO, EXTRA, Valor and CBN. The former mayor of the state capital was interviewed for an hour and a half, addressing various relevant topics for the state.
In the area of public security, a priority issue in the fluminense election, Paes promised to "take crime out of Palácio Guanabara," end the influence of politicians in the area, and reformulate the Security Secretariat, which would reunify the commands of the Civil and Military Police.
During the interview, Paes accused his opponent Douglas Ruas (PL) of being part of the group of "delinquents" that allegedly commanded the state in recent years. He also rebutted his opponent's strategy of associating him with former governor Sérgio Cabral.
Regarding transportation, the candidate defended ambitious projects, with emphasis on metro line 3, which would connect Rio to Niterói and São Gonçalo.
