The municipalities of the West region, represented by the council of OesteCIM, expressed an unfavorable position regarding the mining project in question. This position was expressed through a formal declaration of opposition to the project.
The OesteCIM council considers that the project is incompatible with the environmental carrying capacity of the surrounding area. This assessment is based on concerns regarding the environmental and territorial impact that the mine could generate in the region.
The position of the municipalities was communicated to the competent authorities as part of the evaluation and decision process regarding the project. The unfavorable opinion represents the joint position of the municipalities that make up the Intermunicipal Community of the West.
