Federal Police assesses that plea deal may boost cooperation request to the US regarding fund that transferred money to Dark Horse

The Federal Police expects that the plea deal of financial market operator Antonio Carlos Freixo Júnior, known as "Mineiro," will give new momentum to the investigation into suspicions involving the participation of Senator Flavio Bolsonaro, PL's candidate for President, in financing the film "Dark Horse," a biopic of former President Jair Bolsonaro. The inquiry was opened in July and since then has had little progress.

One of the measures the Federal Police intends to take is a request for international cooperation from the United States to map the money flow involving the Havengate fund and the biopic. The objective is to clarify how the funds were transferred and who was responsible for the scheme.

The inquiry, under the rapporteurship of Justice André Mendonça, investigates the alleged crimes of money laundering, currency evasion, and corruption. When requesting the opening of the investigation, the corporation stated that Senator Flavio Bolsonaro was not a mere "third party," but a "direct interlocutor" of Vorcaro in the negotiation regarding the film's financing.
