The Lisbon Stock Exchange closed the last session of the week in positive territory, with the PSI index registering a gain of 0.73%. Driving this movement, highlights include Ibersol, which gained 4.41%, followed by NOS with 2.74% and BCP with 2.32%. Among the listed companies on the rise are also Mota-Engil, Sonae, Jerónimo Martins, Teixeira Duarte, CTT, REN and Altri.
On the opposite side, EDP Renováveis closed down 0.76%, while Semapa retreated 0.24% and The Navigator fell 0.19%. Corticeira Amorim ended the day unchanged.
The positive sentiment extended to the main European markets, with the German DAX rising 0.77%, the French CAC gaining 0.78% and the Spanish IBEX advancing 0.91%.
According to the analysis by Millennium Investment Banking, investors were encouraged by falling oil prices and the maintenance of US inflation at 3.4% in August, which dispelled fears of an acceleration that could pressure the Federal Reserve to raise interest rates. The barrel of Brent fell 2.14% to $105.33 and crude fell 2.66% to $99.75.
