Porto Business School has created a new research center focused on the real estate sector, with the objective of contributing to solving the housing problem in Portugal. The center was developed to analyze and study issues related to the real estate market and its dynamics.
Bento Aires is the director of this new research center. In statements about housing solutions, he emphasized two key aspects: increasing housing supply and increasing Portuguese people's income. He pointed out that both directions need to be pursued simultaneously to effectively solve the housing problem.
According to Bento Aires, to face the housing problem, it is necessary to increase the supply of houses in the market. However, he emphasized that simply increasing supply is not enough, and complementary income policies are also needed. Increasing housing supply is part of the solution, but relying on this alone is insufficient.
The center hopes to provide research-based insights and solutions for the Portuguese housing market, contributing to informed policy-making and market strategies.
