Casa Cadaval Recovers Expropriated Land in Muge After Court Rules It Was Not Needed for the Works

SAPO Notícias11 September 2026 at 16:09

Casa Cadaval will recover an area of 324 square meters in Muge, in the municipality of Salvaterra de Magos. The land had been expropriated for the modernization of the Vendas Novas Line, but a legal process recognized that the area was not necessary for the execution of the works.

The court ruling allowed Casa Cadaval to regain the land after it was demonstrated that the expropriation was not justified. The sentence recognized that the property had no utility for the completion of the railway modernization project.

This case falls within the broader context of expropriations carried out for the modernization of the Vendas Novas Line, a railway infrastructure that connects different points in the region. The recovery of the land represents a favorable outcome for Casa Cadaval after the legal process.
