Primark opened a new store at Alegro Setúbal on Thursday, marking the chain's first presence in the city and the third in the Setúbal district, after Almada and Montijo. With this opening, the company now has 15 stores in Portugal, just days after inaugurating a space in Castelo Branco. The new store created approximately 50 jobs in the region and is part of an investment plan of approximately 45 million euros planned for the country.
The new space occupies over 1,600 square meters spread across a single floor at Alegro Setúbal shopping center. The store offers items in the areas of fashion, beauty, lifestyle and home, as well as essential everyday products and seasonal offerings. Among the new arrivals are the autumn and winter collections, a collaboration with Paula Echevarría, the Primark Form sportswear range and a selection of back-to-school products.
The opening coincides with the continuation of Primark's Iconic Value campaign, through which the company has reduced the price of hundreds of items among its best-selling products. Examples include jeans with cotton starting at 9 euros, women's boyfriend pajamas from 15 euros and children's styles starting at 10 euros. The store also has four self-checkout stations, operating alongside traditional assisted checkout counters.
Nelson Ribeiro, Head of Sales at Primark Portugal and Spain, considered that the entry into the city represents a significant moment for the company's expansion, with Setúbal, as a district capital and a leading commercial destination for the region, being a natural step in the chain's growth.
