The Federal Public Ministry included Senator Flavio Bolsonaro in the scope of an investigation that examines suspicions of irregularities in the financing of the film "Dark Horse" (A Égua), a Brazilian film production from 2024. The inclusion was determined by Minister André Mendonça, of the Supreme Federal Court, who acts as rapporteur of the case in the Court.
The investigation involves an amount of R$ 61 million destined for the film's production, resources that would have allegedly been diverted through a "fiscal dribble" operation. The suspicions point to a money laundering scheme linked to the former owner of Banco Master, Daniel Vorcaro, who was temporarily arrested in early 2025 as part of the investigations.
According to the investigations, the scheme would consist of using resources of suspicious origin, such as exempt dividends, to justify million-dollar contributions to cultural productions, allowing the money to be "laundered" and returned to those involved. The film "Dark Horse" would have been chosen as the vehicle for this financial operation.
Flavio Bolsonaro was included in the inquiry due to alleged relations with Daniel Vorcaro and atypical financial movements that would have passed through the senator's own account. Flavio Bolsonaro's defense has not yet commented on the inclusion in the case. The Supreme Court is now analyzing whether there are sufficient elements to maintain the parliamentarian as an investigated party in the process.
