The union of INEM pre-hospital emergency technicians and the president of the institute reached an agreement that led to the cancellation of the strike that was scheduled for the 14th and 28th. The Minister of Health intervened as a mediator in the conflict and managed to avoid the protests.
The agreement was reached after negotiations that directly involved the technicians' union and the president of INEM. The government's intervention made it possible to unblock the situation that threatened to affect emergency medical services in the country.
As part of the agreement reached, immediate life support vehicles will be implemented in 15 locations. Five of these vehicles are completely new and the remaining ten will operate with ambulance support.
This outcome represents a victory for collective bargaining in resolving labor problems in the health sector, preventing users from being penalized by a strike that could have compromised emergency medical response.
