A huge waterspout formed on Thursday off the coast of Tigullio, near Genoa, in Italy. The meteorological phenomenon was captured in images and impressed by its size.

The water column advanced across the sea between several vessels, including a tourist ferry. Despite the proximity to the vessels, no victims were recorded.

The phenomenon dissipated before reaching the coast, thus avoiding any potential material or personal damage on land.
