Helena Leal defends suicide prevention as a responsibility of the entire community

Helena Leal, councilor at the Funchal City Council with the health portfolio, defended this Friday that suicide prevention should be assumed as a responsibility of the entire community.

According to Helena Leal, suicide prevention should not be left only to health services, and it is necessary to involve other sectors of society.

The councilor stated that schools, social institutions, associations, families, security forces, and local authorities should also assume an active role in suicide prevention.

The overall project, valued at over 220 million euros, will occupy 10,000 hectares and involves the submersion of the village of Pisão.
