The Novo party filed on Thursday with the president of the Supreme Federal Court, Edson Fachin, a motion for suspicion against the attorney general of Brazil, Paulo Gonet. The goal of the action is to prevent Gonet from acting in the investigations related to Banco Master that are pending at the Court.
The suspicion raised by the party is based on the fact that Gonet was mentioned in a report prepared by the Federal Police. The document was produced from messages obtained on the cell phone of former banker Daniel Vorcaro, which according to Novo compromises the impartiality of the head of the Federal Public Ministry in the investigations.
