Journalists' Union Demands Government Ensure 'Regular Statutory Functioning' of Lusnews After ERC Alert

The Journalists' Union expressed its concern and asked the Government to ensure the "regular statutory functioning" of the Lusíada news agency. This request comes following a complaint filed by the SJ with the Regulatory Authority for the Media.

The ERC confirmed the concerns raised by the Journalists' Union in its complaint. According to the regulator, violations of national and European law regarding press freedom were identified.

The violations mentioned also concern the protection of journalists' autonomy. The situation calls into question fundamental principles that must be respected by any media organization.
