Public transport in the Alto Tâmega and Barroso region will operate under new schedules starting September 14. The change was announced by the Transport Authority of the Intermunicipal Community of Alto Tâmega and Barroso (CIMAT).
The changes coincide with the start of the school year and aim to adapt the transport offer to the population's mobility needs. The changes seek to improve connections to the main school, employment, commerce, and service hubs in the region.
The adjustments cover the six municipalities that make up CIMAT: Boticas, Chaves, Montalegre, Ribeira de Pena, Valpaços, and Vila Pouca de Aguiar. The changes include service reinforcements and modifications to schedules and routes on different lines, as well as new regular transport lines planned to expand and improve network coverage.
The new schedules are already available on CIMAT's website, where all updated information about the region's public transport networks is available.
