The GNR detained a 54-year-old man on Thursday in the municipality of Sines, Setúbal district, on suspicion of drug trafficking. The operation was carried out by military personnel from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Santiago do Cacém Territorial Detachment.
The man exhibited suspicious behavior when approached by the military personnel, which led to police procedures that resulted in his detention and the seizure of various material.
Among the items seized were 197 doses of cannabis resin, 75 doses of cocaine, seven cannabis plants, a 9 mm caliber Glock pistol, 14 rounds of ammunition of the same caliber, a vehicle, 2,100 euros in cash, a garden fan, a heat lamp, and various products and fertilizers intended for drug cultivation.
The suspect will be brought before the Setúbal Judicial Court today to face coercive measures.
