Russia had eight ships capable of launching Kalibr cruise missiles, according to available information. Ukraine announced it had hit three of those ships in a single night, representing a significant blow to Russian naval military capability.
The most recent attack occurred at the port of Novorossiysk, located in southern Russia. The offensive took place during the night of September 8 to 9, when Ukrainian forces targeted the Russian vessels anchored at that strategic port infrastructure.
This attack is part of a series of Ukrainian operations against Russian military targets in the Black Sea. The destruction or damage of three of the eight ships capable of launching Kalibr considerably reduces the long-range attack capability of the Russian fleet in the region.
