Physicians request indicators adjusted for lack of resources and aging population for inland ULS

The Medical Association argues that the evaluation indicators for inland local health units should be adjusted to the specific reality of these regions, which face major resource challenges and an aging population. The Association's report alerts that the current evaluation criteria do not reflect the concrete difficulties faced by these units.

The document highlights that it is necessary to take into account the characterization of the served population, including the high aging index, as well as the chronic shortage of health professionals. These units deal with older and more dispersed populations, which requires different approaches from those applied in urban centers.

The Medical Association argues that the uniform evaluation applied to all local health units does not recognize the structural inequalities of the country's interior. Without adapted indicators, there is a risk of penalizing units that, despite their efforts, cannot meet targets designed for very different realities.
