The European Commission intends to create a European Diploma to facilitate the recognition of professional qualifications and mobility within the European Union. The initiative aims to simplify the bureaucratic processes associated with the recognition of diplomas between Member States.
The main objective is to allow qualified professionals, such as doctors, to practice their profession in any EU country, whether in Portugal, Berlin or any other point in Europe, without facing the current administrative barriers.
This proposal comes in the context of an increasingly integrated European labor market, where the free movement of professionals is considered essential to address labor shortages in critical sectors.
