Brussels intends to adopt a new definition of "housing pressure" that will have a significant impact in Portugal. This new definition covers 161 of the 308 Portuguese municipalities, representing more than half of the national territory.
The Algarve is the region where housing pressure is most significant, being particularly intensely affected by this new European rule.
In the two largest cities in the country, Lisbon and Porto, there is not a single parish that escapes the "housing pressure" category, which demonstrates the extent of the problem in the main Portuguese urban centers.
