The work of writer Clarice Lispector is celebrated in a play and a film currently on display in the city of Rio de Janeiro. The play "The Egg and the Chicken" is adapted by the group Teatro Oficina, from São Paulo, with direction by Joana Medeiros, bringing to the stage the short story where a woman has an epiphany while observing an egg in her kitchen.
The show is on display at Teatro Municipal Ziembinski, in Tijuca, with performances Friday through Saturday at 8pm and Sunday at 7pm. Tickets cost R$70, the rating is for ages 14 and up, and the season runs until September 27.
The feature film "Rio de Clarice," on the other hand, is a collective project with adaptations of five stories by the author. The screenplay is by Nicole Allgranti, Clarice's great-niece, who serves as general director alongside Teresa Montero, the writer's biographer.
