From 'digital literacy' to company triangulation: understand the signs of illegalities in 'Dark horse' cited by the Federal Police

The Federal Police executed 49 search and seizure warrants authorized by Minister Flávio Dino of the Supreme Federal Court (STF) to investigate whether public money from parliamentary amendments indicated by Deputy Mario Frias (PL-SP) was diverted to finance the film "Dark horse," a biopic of Jair Bolsonaro. The operation took place yesterday and aims to clarify alleged illegalities in the use of the funds.

According to investigators, R$ 750 thousand, almost half of the amount allocated by the congressman for a project focused on children's "digital literacy," may have been used to finance part of the film production. The police are seeking evidence that public funds were redirected to the film's coffers.

The PF's action puts pressure on Flavio Bolsonaro's candidacy (PL), who had been celebrating a reaction in the electoral polls. The senator has always publicly emphasized that the film "Dark horse" was financed exclusively with private money.

Flavio Bolsonaro's optimism was reinforced in recent days by the evolution of the crisis at the STF and by the association made by part of the electorate between the PT candidate and Alexandre de Moraes, a central figure in the moment of institutional instability.

Algarve ULS denies having prohibited workers from attending Medicine

The Local Health Unit (ULS) of the Algarve clarified that it never prohibited its workers from attending the Medicine course at the University of Algarve, after the Socialist Party (PS) questioned the Minister of Health about alleged restrictions on employment contracts. The ULS explained that the statements by its president, Tiago Botelho, were "improperly interpreted and taken out of context," noting that it did not adopt any deliberation to that effect. The institution clarified that attending a higher education course is not considered a situation of function accumulation and that it complies with the legal provisions for worker-students, although it considers that the demands of the medical course are "hardly compatible" with the simultaneous exercise of regular professional activity.

PF reports indicate that Vorcaro funded expenses for former BC executives investigated in Master Case

Federal Police reports reveal that former banker Daniel Vorcaro funded international travel expenses for two former Central Bank executives investigated in the Master Case. According to investigators, Vorcaro organized receptions at luxury restaurants in Paris for former Banking Supervision Chief Belline Santana and paid for a Disney itinerary for former Inspection Director Paulo Sérgio Neves de Souza and his family. The PF identified receipts for transfers of 3.8 million reais to Belline in exchange for institutional favoritism, and found that both public servants exceeded their legal duties by previously reviewing draft documents, sharing confidential information, and participating in unofficial meetings to benefit the financial institution.

Daniel Vorcaro knew about operation against him in advance, case documents reveal

Documents released by Minister André Mendonça reveal that banker Daniel Vorcaro had advance knowledge of Operation Compliance Zero, reinforcing the thesis that he tried to flee the country to avoid arrest. Federal Police reports show that Vorcaro monitored federal agents and probed proximity to the judge handling the case, urgently arranging the hiring of a jet at Guarulhos bound for the United Arab Emirates after being warned about the imminent operation. The secrecy of the investigation at the STF was lifted at the request of Court President Edson Fachin, and digital copies were shared with all the court's ministers.
