Mainland Portugal will face a heat wave in the coming days, with temperatures reaching 40 degrees in various parts of the country. This situation occurs between Saturday and Tuesday, September 12 to 15, when the heat is expected to be particularly intense in the districts of Santarém and Évora.
Half of the districts in mainland Portugal are under yellow warning due to the heat. In the Alentejo and in Santarém, temperatures should range between 38 and 39 degrees, thus approaching the 40 degrees expected in other areas.
The nights will also be particularly hot, with minimum temperatures around 23 degrees, which maintains thermal discomfort even during nighttime hours.
The weekend will be marked by widespread heat, affecting all district capitals on the mainland, in a context where summer is about to end but temperatures continue to be very high.
