A mpox outbreak caused two deaths since 2024, according to reported data. The total number of confirmed cases reached 432, in a scenario that has worried the country's health authorities.
The outbreak affects multiple provinces, demonstrating significant geographic spread. Of the 116 active cases currently identified, the majority is concentrated in the exclave of Cabinda, making this region the main focus of the disease at the moment.
The country's authorities have already begun mobilizing vaccines to combat the outbreak. However, the available resources are limited, which may represent a challenge in controlling the spread of the disease.
