oglobo11 September 2026 at 00:55

A 23-year-old medical student was indicted for the crime of reckless homicide (dolo eventual) for the death of a 38-year-old motorcyclist in Maringá, Paraná. Rodolfo Rodrigo Notario was run over and dragged by the student's car for several meters.

The Civil Police changed the classification of the crime during the investigation. Initially, the investigation focused on serious bodily injury while driving a motor vehicle, but with the evidence collected, it became clear that the crime constituted reckless homicide (dolo eventual), when a person assumes the risk of causing death as a result.

According to police, the accused refused to take the breathalyzer test, but showed signs of intoxication. The conclusion was that the student assumed the risk of causing death on the road by operating a vehicle while under the influence of alcohol.
