IMF sees long-term inflation expectations stable

Observador11 September 2026 at 00:34

Long-term global inflation expectations remain stable, according to the International Monetary Fund, despite the escalation of the conflict in Iran and rising oil prices. This stability occurs even in a context of growing geopolitical tension in the Middle East region.

The IMF acknowledges, however, that there are significant risks of worsening the global energy crisis. The uncertainty associated with the Iranian conflict continues to represent a threat to global energy markets.

The international financial institution highlights that, although inflation expectations remain controlled, the international economic environment continues to be marked by volatility and potential pressure on energy prices.
