Alentejo 2030 programme exceeds 50% approval rate

Correio Alentejo11 September 2026 at 01:00

The Alentejo 2030 regional operational programme presents an approval rate of 53.5%, in line with the average of the remaining regional programmes under Portugal 2030, according to the Alentejo Regional Coordination and Development Commission (CCDR Alentejo). This result demonstrates a consistent evolution in the contracting of support and in the capacity to transform available programming into concrete investments for the territory.

The performance of the Just Transition Fund (JTF) deserves special mention, presenting an approval rate of 88.7%, significantly higher than the average of regional programmes. This result constitutes one of the most positive indicators of the programme, demonstrating the region's capacity to mobilize resources destined for energy transition, economic reconversion and the adaptation of territories to decarbonisation challenges. The Alentejo ESF+ also shows favourable performance, with an approval rate of 64.7%, higher than the global average approval rate of Portugal 2030, set at 62.5%.

The CCDR Alentejo also highlights that 61.49% of approved funds relate to private entities, while 38.51% correspond to public entities. This predominance of private investment constitutes a positive signal for the regional economy, evidencing investor confidence and the capacity of the business fabric to take advantage of the financing instruments made available by Portugal 2030.

Regarding financial execution, the Alentejo 2030 execution rate stands at 12.7%, reflecting a phase in which a significant portion of approved projects is still under development and physical execution. This context is particularly relevant when considering that many of the supported investments correspond to structural projects, both public and private, whose completion involves contracting procedures, licensing, construction works, equipment acquisition or technological implementation, with naturally longer temporal cycles.
