The project "There's a Party in the Village" takes place on September 19 and 20 in the parish of Ul, in Oliveira de Azeméis. Part of Portugal's rural development program for villages, the event celebrates traditions, culture and local identity, promoting the tangible and intangible heritage of this community.
The event takes place at the Molinological Theme Park in the village and aims to unite generations in a festive and friendly atmosphere, preserving collective memory and the sense of belonging to the territory. The initiative bridges the past and present of a region rich in gastronomic, cultural and environmental terms.
Among the scheduled activities, highlight for a walk of approximately eight kilometers in partnership with the Municipal Walking and Running Center, the Festival of Flavors with Identity with special focus on the traditional Ul Bread, and the Village Market. Throughout the two days of the event there will also be entertainment, dynamic activities and water mills in operation.
The initiative is promoted by ATA – Village Tourism Association, in partnership with ADRITER – Association for Integrated Rural Development of the Lands of Santa Maria, with the support of the Municipal Council of Oliveira de Azeméis.
