Culture and rurality "meet" at the Vale do Poço Fair

The XXII Cross-Border Agricultural Fair of Vale do Poço takes place between September 11 and 13, in the town of Vale do Poço, which divides the municipalities of Mértola and Serpa. This year, the Mértola City Council is responsible for organizing the event, which aims to promote the territory, value rural traditions and strengthen ties between communities on both sides of the border.

The three-day program includes activities for all ages, with emphasis on culture, gastronomy, agricultural activity and socializing. The fair opens on Friday at 5:00 PM, with the opening ceremony scheduled for two hours later.

On Saturday, the 12th, various activities take place, including a horse ride at 9:00 AM, an agroecology colloquium at 10:30 AM, a xito tournament at 2:00 PM, a wine and cheese tasting at 7:00 PM and an equestrian gala at 10:00 PM.

On Sunday, the 13th, a walk is scheduled at 8:00 AM, a motorbike meet at 8:30 AM, a sheepdog demonstration at 10:00 AM, a choral groups meeting at 6:00 PM and a dance with Tiago Catarino at 9:00 PM.
