The new school year began in Paços de Ferreira with an initiative dedicated to inclusive education, which took place at the Business Association of the municipality on a Thursday. The event brought together teachers, school administrators, specialists and families to discuss how educational communities can respond to the diversity of students.

The opening session was conducted by Paulo Ferreira, president of the Municipal Council of Paços de Ferreira, followed by the presentation of the round table by Joaquim Magalhães, director of the School Grouping of Frazão. The first part of the meeting focused on organization and school inclusion practices, with interventions from Rosa Maria Campos, psychologist at the School Grouping of Paços de Ferreira, on resources and intervention in the face of diversity, and from Daniela Massa, a special education teacher in the visual domain, on the application of universal measures in school.

The relationship between school and families was also highlighted, with the participation of Tânia Silva, a parent. After a break, the work continued with a second round table dedicated to inclusion, equity and pedagogical differentiation, moderated by Joaquim Liberal, deputy director of the School Grouping D. António Taipa, and with interventions from Filomena Pereira on achievements and challenges of inclusive education, and from Rui Trindade on pedagogical differentiation in teaching.

The program ended at noon with the closing remarks by Amância Santos, Councilor for Education of the Municipal Council of Paços de Ferreira.
