Union, Ministry of Health and INEM meet on Friday to try to avoid strike

The Union of Pre-Hospital Emergency Technicians (STEPH), the Ministry of Health and INEM will meet next Friday in an attempt to reach an agreement that allows the cancellation of the strike scheduled for the 14th and 28th of the current month. This meeting comes as a last effort to avoid the impacts of a strike that would affect pre-hospital emergency services in Portugal. STEPH is the union representing pre-hospital emergency technicians, essential professionals in the operation of ambulances and the provision of medical emergency care throughout the country. INEM is the organization responsible for the coordination and management of emergency medical services, being directly affected by any strike by these professionals. This negotiation comes in a context of labor tensions in the health sector, where pre-hospital emergency technicians have been demanding better working and salary conditions.

Government and social partners meet on Wednesday with State Budget 2027 on the agenda

The Portuguese Government and social partners meet next Wednesday in Social Concertation to discuss the State Budget for 2027 and the transposition of the Pay Transparency Directive, at a meeting that will be attended by the Finance Minister, Joaquim Miranda Sarmento.
