Half of the voters who identify as bolsonaristas believe Eduardo Paes (PSD) will win the race for governor of Rio de Janeiro. According to the Quaest poll published on Tuesday, 50% of this group points to Paes as the likely winner, while 14% bet on Douglas Ruas (PL). Anthony Garotinho (Republicanos) is cited by 9%, and 22% did not know or did not respond.

Among all Fluminense voters, the expectation of Paes's victory is even greater: 64% believe the PSD candidate will win the election. Ruas is pointed to by 8%, and Garotinho by 7%. Another 21% did not know or did not respond.

The poll also showed that the expectation of Paes's victory is greater among groups with complete higher education (75%) and in classes A and B (72%). The result does not represent voting intention, but rather the perception of respondents about who should win the election.

Less than a month before the first round of elections, Quaest asked respondents which candidate they believe will win the race for governor of Rio, regardless of who they intend to vote for.

Flavío Bolsonaro says operation against Mário Frias is an attempt to interfere in elections

Flavío Bolsonaro stated that Operation Make Up, carried out by the Federal Police against Mário Frias, is an attempt at political interference in the elections, saying the action was authorized by STF Minister Flavío Dino. The candidate claimed the operation was motivated by his growth in polling numbers, where he says he has overtaken President Lula. The operation investigates suspected embezzlement of amendments destined for a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. Flavío's campaign attempts to minimize the impacts using a political persecution narrative, while the Opposition Leader in the Chamber, Cabo Gilberto Silva, classified the operation as "political persecution" during the electoral period.
