The PS-M deputies presented in the Madeira Legislative Assembly a Greeting Motion for World Suicide Prevention Day, commemorated on September 10. Through this initiative, they seek to raise awareness among the population about the importance of combating the stigma associated with psychological suffering and to make seeking professional help more natural.
The motion also recognizes the work and dedication of the professionals who daily intervene in the area of suicide prevention and mental health support.
In the context of this celebration, PS-M deputies questioned the position of the PSD, which rejected a study on mental health. This decision by the majority party in the region was criticized by the Madeiran socialists.
The PS-M initiative comes within the framework of a broader effort to raise awareness in society about the issues of mental health and the need to invest in prevention and support for those suffering from psychological disorders.
