Flavío Bolsonaro stated on Thursday (10) that Operation Make Up, carried out by the Federal Police, is an attempt at political interference in the elections by Minister Flavío Dino of the STF, who authorized the searches. The statement was made in Boa Vista, in Roraima, during the candidate's first political agenda in the north of the country.
The operation investigates suspected embezzlement of parliamentary amendments destined for a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. The campaign attempts to minimize the impacts of the action and uses the narrative of political persecution against the candidate.
Flavío Bolsonaro reacted to the operation stating that the motivation would be his growth in polling numbers, where, according to him, he would have overtaken President Lula. The candidate declared he has conviction that he will win the dispute and said the Brazilian people will not give approval for Lula to appoint four more ministers to the STF.
The Opposition Leader in the Chamber, Deputy Cabo Gilberto Silva, released a statement classifying the operation as "political persecution" during the electoral period.
