Garotinho confirms Vorcaro's 'astronauts party' video and clarifies controversy between Michelle and Flavio Bolsonaro

cbn10 September 2026 at 16:11

Anthony Garotinho, candidate for governor of Rio de Janeiro for Republicanos and former governor of the state, held a live interview on CBN and newspapers O Globo, Extra and Valor where he clarified a controversy involving a video of a party called "Night of the Astronautas." The controversy began when Michelle Bolsonaro reposted a video of Garotinho talking about a party held by Daniel Vorcaro, which allegedly featured her presence and that of presidential candidate Flavio Bolsonaro.

After the repost, Flavio Bolsonaro himself entered into conflict with Michelle, stating that he knew nothing about the event and that she was "misinformed." The episode generated a public dispute between the two members of the Bolsonaro family.

During the interview, Garotinho stated that he spoke directly with Michelle Bolsonaro and with Flavio Bolsonaro himself about the matter. According to him, it was confirmed that Senator Flavio Bolsonaro was not present at the party video. The Republicanos candidate clarified that he did not mention anyone's names in his previous statements about the event.

Garotinho also explained the reasons why he was not releasing the complete video of the party, which supposedly would show "naked Supreme Court ministers, federal deputies and senators." The first reason, according to him, is that he already faces problems with the Judiciary, being one of the few people who has for years denounced "the dictatorship of the robe." The second reason is that he is running for an election and does not want to get involved in any more controversies.

The candidate claimed the operation was motivated by his growth in polling numbers, where he says he has overtaken President Lula. The operation investigates suspected embezzlement of amendments destined for a film about former President Jair Bolsonaro. Flavío's campaign attempts to minimize the impacts using a political persecution narrative, while the Opposition Leader in the Chamber, Cabo Gilberto Silva, classified the operation as "political persecution" during the electoral period.
