The Regulatory Council of the Regulatory Authority for Social Communication (ERC) concluded that TVI did not observe "antenna ethics" in an interview conducted by Cristina Ferreira about a rape case. The decision was disclosed today by the regulator.
The ERC indicated that statements were made about a sexual rape case that diminish the gravity of the aggressors' actions and the violence perpetrated. The regulator understands that this approach relativizes and justifies the aggressors.
The Regulatory Council considered that the framing given to the topic by the interview calls into question the sensitivity necessary for the informative treatment of sexual violence cases. The decision highlights the responsibility of media outlets in handling content related to crimes of this nature.
