Seven unions and associations representing the PSP and GNR united to demand an urgent meeting with the Minister of Internal Administration, Luís Neves. The public security sector organizations gave the minister one week to respond to the meeting request.
The organizations representing members of the Public Security Police and the Republican National Guard expressed their intention to proceed with protests if the meeting does not take place or if their concerns are not addressed by the Ministry.
This joint action comes at a time of growing tension between the security forces and the executive, with professionals demanding better working conditions, salary increases and greater recognition of their activities.
Luís Neves, who holds the position of Minister of Internal Administration, will be the main interlocutor for the government in these negotiations with the unions and associations of the security forces.
