Lousã advances with purchase of land for future multi-use space

Campeão das Províncias10 September 2026 at 16:26

The Lousã Municipal Council approved the contractual clauses for the acquisition, for 2.4 million euros, of a plot of land at Quinta de Santa Rita destined for the future installation of a multi-use space. Lot 42, with 17,100 square meters, is located between Rua Miguel Torga, Rua Pinheiro Manso, Rua João Reis and Rua João Cunha Marques, in an area where some of the municipality's main events take place, including the annual São João Fair.

The municipal executive also approved the conditions of a 500 thousand euro loan from Caixa de Crédito Agrícola Mútuo Beira Centro to finance part of this acquisition. The payment agreement provides for 400 thousand euros at the time of the deed and the remaining two million euros over five years, through quarterly payments of 400 thousand euros per year, between 2027 and 2031. The loan has a 10-year term, a 12-month grace period, a rate indexed to the three-month Euribor plus a spread of 0.19%, with no commissions or charges and with the possibility of early repayment without penalties.

This space will make it possible to consolidate the conditions for holding municipal initiatives and prepare an infrastructure capable of accommodating shows, fairs, congresses and other larger-scale events. The approval of the contractual clauses now allows advancing with the procedures necessary for the formalization of the acquisition, including the submission of the deed draft to prior inspection by the Court of Auditors.

According to the council, this step aims to provide Lousã with a larger multi-use infrastructure, strengthening the capacity to host new initiatives and to enhance events that contribute to the cultural, social, economic and tourist dynamization of the municipality.
