TAP, the Portuguese airline, plans to strengthen its routes to Brazil, a market where it positions itself as the European leader. The decision comes as the carrier approaches 60 years of existence of the Lisbon-Rio de Janeiro connection.
The company will add 15 new connections to Brazil from October, strengthening what it describes as a "connection of culture, of friendship and of business" between Portugal and the South American country.
Brazil represents a strategic market for TAP, which has consolidated its position as the main European airline operating routes to the country. This reinforcement comes in the context of celebrations of almost six decades of activity on the Lisbon route.
