The University of Beira Interior (UBI) promotes the UBI Science & Innovation Festival – Science for the Territory, an event that takes place in Covilhã between September 23 and 25. The festival aims to bring science and innovation outside the university environment, bringing these areas closer to the general public.
The initiative is integrated into the celebrations of the European Researchers' Night, a European-wide action that aims to bring researchers closer to the public and promote accessible scientific dissemination.
The event combines programming dedicated to science, innovation and culture, creating a diverse program that aims to reach different audiences during the three days of activities.
The organization hopes this will be a way to create new points of contact between the academic community and the local population, strengthening the role of the university as a driving force for the territory through knowledge.
