D. Pedro V Market with free home deliveries and one hour of free parking

The Municipal Market D. Pedro V, in Coimbra, now offers a pilot service of free home deliveries called "The Market at Home," for purchases of 20 euros or more, covering the entire municipality. Customers make their purchases at the market's stalls and go to the Contact Point, located at the main entrance on the ground floor, where the data is checked and the orders are validated. After validation, the products remain with the merchants until they are collected and transported to the address indicated by the customer.

The Coimbra City Council revealed that the creation of this service is part of a set of measures to enhance and boost the D. Pedro V Market, seeking to reinforce the attractiveness of the facility, improve the customer experience and create new conditions to support the traders' activity.

The municipality has also introduced one hour of free parking for market customers. To benefit from this exemption, it is necessary to present proof of the purchases made, and a voucher covering the first hour is provided. If the stay exceeds this period, the customer only pays for the additional time.

The distribution of aprons for traders, identification vests for workers associated with the service, and shopping carts for use by customers is also planned. With these measures, the local authority intends to combine incentives for in-person shopping, logistical facilitation and reinforcement of the market's operational capacity.
