Fuel prices to rise on Monday

dnoticias.pt10 September 2026 at 15:12

Fuel prices will increase in Madeira next Monday, according to the Regional Secretary for the Economy, José Manuel Rodrigues. The official justified this rise with the escalation of oil prices on international markets, stating that the barrel exceeded 100 dollars.

The decision was communicated during the opening session of the IV Food Fair of Madeira, which celebrates its 30th anniversary. José Manuel Rodrigues took the opportunity to explain to those present the economic reasons behind the fuel price increase.

This rise directly affects Madeiran consumers, who will face higher prices at petrol stations from Monday. The increase reflects the global trend of oil markets, which have been registering a significant appreciation of crude oil.

The Autonomous Region of Madeira thus sees its fuel prices following the international trend, at a time when energy costs continue to pressure regional economies.
