The IEP – Instituto Electrotécnico Português celebrates 45 years of existence with the congress "Portugal's Major Strategic Challenges", on September 30th at Casa da Música in Porto. The event brings together specialists, decision-makers and leaders from different sectors to debate issues that are decisive for the country's competitiveness and future.
Pedro Siza Vieira will be the keynote speaker of a program that includes representatives from various entities, including idD Portugal Defence, CCDR-Norte, EID, Metropolitano de Lisboa, Instituto Superior Técnico, INESC TEC, E-REDES, AI2, MEO, Amazon Web Services Portugal, Start Campus, among others. The congress also has the support of entities such as AIPOR, the Order of Technical Engineers, CIP, AEP, APQ and the Order of Engineers.
The event will include three thematic panels focused on Energy, Defense and Future Infrastructure: "Defense, Industry and Strategic Autonomy", "The Challenges of the Future Electrical Grid" and "Portugal as a Global Hub for Communications, Data and Innovation". Throughout the day, participants will be able to follow debates on strategic autonomy, modernization of the electrical grid and Portugal's positioning as a global platform for communications, data and innovation.
Participation in the congress costs 180 euros, including access to all sessions, coffee-break, lunch and cocktail to celebrate the IEP's 45th anniversary. According to the Institute, the objective is to promote serious reflection on the major challenges that will shape Portugal's future, from a perspective that requires knowledge, inter-sector cooperation and a long-term strategic vision.
