Portuguese driver detained in Spain after being caught driving at 218 km/h

A Portuguese driver was detained in Spain after being caught driving at 218 km/h. The speeding was detected during a speed control carried out in the province of Salamanca.

The driver was ultimately detained by the Guardia Civil, which opened an investigation for an alleged road safety crime. The case will now be handled by the Spanish authorities.

Man arrested on suspicion of drug trafficking in Ponte de Lima

A 37-year-old man was arrested in Ponte de Lima by the GNR, through the Criminal Investigation Unit of Arcos de Valdevez, on suspicion of drug trafficking. The investigation lasted approximately one month and included the execution of four search warrants, one at a residence and three in vehicles. Two air pressure rifles, 257 doses of marijuana and 22 vacuum packaging bags were seized. The suspect was made a defendant and the facts were reported to the Judicial Court of Ponte de Lima.
