Three PM officers are indicted for corruption in scheme of privileged policing for clinic in Belford Roxo

Three military police officers were indicted for passive military corruption in an investigation into a scheme of privileged policing in exchange for money. The action was carried out on Thursday morning by the Specialized Group for Public Security Action (Gaesp) of the Public Ministry of the State of Rio de Janeiro (MPRJ), which carried out three preventive detention warrants against the agents.

This was the sixth phase of Operation Patrinus, which investigates schemes of corruption, extortion and misconduct at the 39th BPM (Belford Roxo). According to MPRJ, two of those indicted were already imprisoned due to another case resulting from the same investigation.

The detention warrants against the two police officers who were already detained were carried out at the Special Prison Battalion (BEP) and at the Joaquim Ferreira Public Jail, both in the state of Rio de Janeiro.
